Board Ettiquette
~We encourage you all to read over our guidelines and a few board ettiquette. By doing so we hope all
roleplayers will have a more enjoyable expierence .~
Courtesy and Respect
1. We insist respect is given to all members of the RPG Community ...
it is essential. We are real people behind these characters. Role playing is fun, at
times stressful situations due to a lack of respect for each other individually will take the enjoyment away for all of us.
Your board admin's word is final... respect that.
They will respect you, in turn .
2. Our community boards are done tastefully and kept clean. Abusive language and the role play of explicit sexual
acts are not permitted on our public boards. Children may have access to read what we post. Pass protected forums, with the
authorization of an admin will allow for limited ‘questionable’ content. The Halls of Freedom is our community pass
protected room, questionable content legal by the terms stated by ezboard may be posted however we require you to be 18 or
older.
3. Flaming is not tolerated toward any members including our board staff. It is also something not tolerated by
staff to you. Any situation that you feel falls under this, please contact me. I will request documented information regarding
this from you at the time of your intial contact. HAVE IT ! Any copies of IM's or conversation
that you feel is essential for me to review regarding this situation.
4. Separation - draw a distinct line between IC and OOC. Your character does and will
have traits of yourself , it does happen. If you chose to make a char that mirrors you REMEMBER that IC is directed
to your character, not at you personally.
Friendships are the bonus to R/Ping with others in this community. Separation
of IC and OOC must be present. Anyone crossing this line
will be dealt with accordingly and possible ban from community or board roleplays .
5. Your character is just that,
a character, a -fantasy- , keep this in mind...understand this...Movie characters
are an enactment done by an actor/actresses. We are playing a game. The trials, and tribulations the joys and sorrows of her/him
are not yours.
6. We strive to maintain a high level of R/P here. You have a responsibility
to yourself and the others involved, to keep fresh in your mind. If you must depart from a roleplay for a time
let those you rp with know. As well strive for a decent better quality in your writings.
Characters
1. An
individual account is required for every character played. If you are unable to handle three separate accounts, it will be
necessary for you to use only what you can effectively handle. You may register for a free account with EZboard
2. Custom signatures
you use for your characters must be kept tastful. No imgaes showing the nipple, vaginal or penial areas will be tolerated.
No pornagraphic images, or images of explicit sexual acts of any kind are allowed.
Signature size must be kept reasonable as well. Here
on these boards we the genral size for signatures is approximately 400 pixels wide by 200 pixels high. Though some
players prefer a square picture and we allow a max of 300 by 300 pixels for this. Some deviation in pixel size is allowed with
prior consent from a communiyt administrator. Please remember that an admin can ask you to alter your sig at any time
if the size or content is unsuitable. Resizing can be done on most images if you just ask for help. Help for various image
problems can be found in our Image Help Forums.
3.
Antagonistic role players/ Evil aligned characters aid in providing a more interesting scenario for us all. The good guy would
not be good if there was not the bad guy, and visa/versa.Constant "beds of roses" cause for quick loss of interest. We need to interact and endure these evil characters and
the actions. Holding grudges against role-players for the actions of their evil aligned characters is not acceptable. -We play a game-

Guidelines
1. ALL comments made "Out of Character" comments will be deleted from the role playing forums.
Your post will be edited by a member of staff, to remain free od idle ooc chatter and strictly In Character story.
2. The BANTER FOR SPAMMERS is the public community OOC forum. Everyone has access to this forum for out of character conversation. We also have specific
forums for RPG DISCUSSIONS and GAME SUPPORT. Many resources for the beginner and veteran roleplayer alike, can be found in the community RPG Discussion Forum or
in the Member Resource Menu at the top of the page.
3. Siganature testing
, changes , help, custom banners and title requests and the like should all be done within the proper forum. The SIGNATURE AND IMAGE HELP Forum. Again please consider the size of your signature and request aide if need be in the appropriate help forum.
4. The ANNOUNCEMENTS is a forum that we permit you to post character greetings,
announcements or updates from other boards, information that you wish to share.
5. The HALLS OF FREEDOM forum -is- pass protected only 18 and older are permitted to post here. You
may REQUEST ACCESS TO THE HALLS in the Banter for Spammers Forum in the designated thread. Your post should state you are
18 or older, you will have access to this fourm within 72 hours. Internet police and FBI other federal agencies regulate and
monitor the Internet, make responsible decisions for yourself by doing so you will not put any of us at a risk of losing our
board.
6. ALL Role Plays should adhere to the following:
First we strive for quality roleplaying here and ask that no RPs be spamlike in nature. Meaning that we ask you at least have
a 15 line minimum in your In Charcter posts. Second all Roleplays are considered Open meaning any may participate. Closing
a R/P is permitted but your responsibility, and can be done by adding (Closed R/P) to your post title. A closed RP is only
open for posting to those characters that the originating charcter agrees to. Please accept this.
7. Making a
‘move’ to kill another character, requires a minimum of 24 hours response wait time from your opponent.
Be lenient in wiating for other characters to respond, we all have real lives. However if you have waited and the player
you attacked has posted though not countered or acknowledged your action, this may be assumed acceptance of the inlficted
action and its consequence. Be thorough in your posts and replys to other post.
8. Major role
plays with many characters involved will be required to adhere to a set posting order with at least a 48 hiour window for
players to take their turn in the post order. This is a courtesy to others and allows all players from around
the world enough time to reply to posts already made. Please be flexible with your fellow players, ask for delays if you will
be unavailable for a short time. Be courteous.
9. Reading the Sidebar and the Marquee on any of the community boards you are roleplaying
at will give you updates. It will constantly be posting information that your character would be aware of and that you
too should be aware of. Our role play is set in a medieval fantasy age. Keep this in mind when roleplaying
and try to keep true to the era.
Fighting, Battles, Magic etc.
1. The
laws of physics apply to everything, and while you don't need to be a physics major, you do need to be believable in what
your character is capable of. Water dispels fire, holy water dispels holy fire. As simple as that, elements are constantly
in use and they work like they should in the real world. Light and shadow, water and fire, lightning and ice etc.
2. Attacking or fighting with another role
player is not and never will be frowned upon in this community, if you do it correctly and as we permit. Good or bad it all
depends on your characters level of skill and abilities.
3. Magic and psionics are of prime use for many characters,
as well as other inante abilities, however you can survive without it. It is your choice what skills and abilities your character
carries with her/her. For further charcter development details please see our Getting Started Page.
4. Physical prowess is capeable of overcoming
powers of magic. Magical talents vary from many things, from elemental powers, to Arcane or Divine magics and even
the use Psychic energies . Psionics is the use of Psychic energies, mind power and personal energy. Being
creative is never frowned upon. Use your imagination, stay away from -god modding-.
5. Killing another character is acceptable
in RP terms yet you should be aware of the consequences and such. The post that holds the KILL move -must- allow oppurtunity for the ‘defending’ Character to react to your attack. However
if no reaction is posted by the opposing player you may ssume that your action /attack was accepted.
Don't...
leap
down and send a blade into their back proclaiming the character is now dead.
Do...
leaping forward from the
shadows while supporting a blade in his right hand, lashing it toward his opponents back as to give a fatal blow.
God Modding
1. A player refusing to take damage or
loose in combat, over steps the limits of their charcter. Clearly evident that this is the case, when many will speak up to
inform you. The Site operates on an honor system keep it as realistic as possible. If your character should die, finding
a character to resurrect yours is an option as well as creating a new character.
2.
There is not a charcter created that should be able to withstand all forms of attack from all levels of other
characters. The more demanding defenses and attacks such as magical require great amouts of foucs and wisdom, and continued
practice and training. Thus the more adept a wizard is with magic he may be lacking in other areas such as physical strength,
due to lack of time to train his body because he trains his mind. Every being created should have weakness and in some
way be stoppable, coquerable, or destroyed. Be prepared for this as a possibvle outcome in any of your role plays.
Contesting
1. Contesting
is to be taken to the OOC Forum for SUGGESTIONS/CONTESTS/AND HELP. We believe that pplayers
can discuss between themselves what the questions, problems or discrepancies may be in their own roleplays. Doing this respectfully.
Be warned if an admin is required to intervene due to attitudes and foul language for example, one will do so, and the
outcome may not be beneficial to any. The R/P will most likely be called invalid, archived and determined to
have never have occurred.
Chat
1. There are several chat rooms
on the various RP and OOC baord in the community. Chat Rooms are IC. If
all parties present are OOC, it is acceptable. If a character enters IC, all further OOC conversation will need to be moved to whisper or the OOC
board Chat Room. Respecting each other here is again expected.
2. When
you have a RP going on in the chat and it is an ‘important’ event in your characters life, for example a transformation
or charcter developing moment. We offer you the ability to copy and save it giving you also any of the various RP forums
to post this in or the House of Stories.
In order to save a chat, click
on ext mode button at the top of the chat and highlight the test on the screen. Press Ctrl and C at the same time, it will
copy the text. Go to a your thread and post as normal pressing Ctrl and V at the same time to paste or right click your mouse
and select paste.
Please
take advantage of this option if it is a major RP and/or involves many other players. Posting what transpired in
chat can be important for future events. Both for role play development and for the unfortunate cicumstance of
a contest at later date reguarding the events.
3. Administrators are the only persons allowed to ask or tell you to leave our chat. Following
our rules and guidelines as well as staying IC assures this will not happen.
R/P have secretive information at times, we would ask you to not sit in the chat and not enter IC. Reminding you all that anything heard by if you do not enter for a moment is OOC information. It is not acceptable for your character to
use.
FINAL NOTES:
**All
rules of play may be changed at anytime without notice pending staff discretion**
**You may chose to disagree
with a decision made, or a change perhaps, that being your option to do so. However there will be no further discussion
once administrator final decisions are made.**
**Communication with staff is welcomed and encouraged.
